Founder, Principle Chingona
I'm an experienced social justice, diversity, equity and inclusion professional ready to dig deep into your desire and vision for shared growth.
In my 25 years as a higher education and arts adjacent professional, I have worked with students in pre-college, undergraduate, and graduate realms and have been integral to transitions in a variety of departments and divisions across the arts and education. During my career, I have served in inaugural leadership roles, on committees and groups that support social justice efforts, supported senior leaders, and championed students and women of color.
Through my identities, I've seen us falling short of supporting self-care, wellbeing, and mentoring for students & women of color.
I'm determined to change that.
I have created, facilitated, and participated in a wide variety of workshops, keynotes, trainings, and conferences related to social justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) during my tenure in higher education and the arts. My approach to DEIB and social justice is rooted in human development and growth mindset.
I speak truth to power and demand more from myself and the world around me.
And I'm here to help you do the same.
I am an avid reader, lover of all kinds of music and nature, Auntie Ida to a niece and nephew, mom to two amazing young women, and partner to a local business owner. I am a California born, Texas raised, transplanted Wisconsinite.
I believe in the power of vulnerability to make us stronger and more effective leaders in all aspects of our lives. And I will never ask you to do something I have not done myself.
